Uriah Heep - Astoria, London.
Excellently put together package
for this small tour of the UK by Heep and Nazareth (not forgetting
Stray ..although I have to admit I never saw them once live at the
gigs! ..shame)
Nazareth put on an (as usual) exellent show.
Heep: Well asI have said before, Bernie's voice is the best I have
ever heard it and his execution of some of the old (and not so
often heard) classics is superb.
The Astoria was packed to the gills (mostly with sweaty leather
jacketed people ..of which I must admit to being one) and the band
live were the best
I have seen them for a long long time (apart from the unplugged
concert where they really delivered the goods)
Bernie looked great (in his newly designed/repaired clothes by top
Czech designer Radka Hlabislova ...watch this space ..Mick and
Trevor soon to be appearing in similerly designed clothes)
The band seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves on stage while
delivering a great set for us, the punters.
The party (Phils Birthday Bash) was exellent too although I was
much the worse for wear the following morning after far too much
Jack Daniels.
Emphasised by my little 3 1/2 yr old daughter asking me constantly
the next day 'Daddy why are you so sleepy today'
Says it all really.
